About the Book
Pierre lives in Zululand, South Africa, on his family farm. He loves to take his binoculars and go exploring around the farmland that surrounds his home, especially to look for interesting new wildlife. One day, he sees an incredible sight—a baboon!
The hungry baboon is on the search for food when he makes a silly mistake. Will Pierre sit back and watch the poor baboon’s tough day? Or can Pierre help the baboon, and learn a valuable lesson as he does?
Pierre’s Big Baboon Adventure is a light-hearted, funny book written in charming rhyming couplets. Kids will learn fun facts about African wildlife while they hear the true story of Pierre’s big adventure.
About the Author
Melissa K Mundell is an author and early childhood educator who was born in South Africa, grew up in England, and now lives in Canada. As a child she was enchanted by her dad’s stories, and how drastically different his upbringing was from her own. His stories connected her to her roots and helped her to understand different cultures. She was inspired to turn those stories into a book after working with children and seeing how they internalized messages from the books she read them. When she isn’t writing, Melissa loves walking her dog, mountain biking, skiing, and reading. She lives in Whistler, B.C., with her fiancé Chad and their dog, Trigger.
